Portsmouth Breast Cancer Friends are proud to be winners of the Health and Social Inclusion Team Award at the Portsmouth Inspiring Volunteers Awards 2024. The annual awards ceremony recognises the incredible contribution of those who give up their time to make the city a better place.
More than 200 people attended the ceremony which was held at Portsmouth Football Club and organised by Together in Hive Portsmouth. Chief Officer of HIVE Portsmouth Lorna Reavley said: “The passion and dedication of our volunteers can uplift, inspire, and bring about transformative change. Volunteering is not about seeking recognition or reward; it’s about the profound impact volunteers have on the lives of others.”
The award was presented to a group of our volunteers by the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth. We were delighted that the hard work and commitment of our supporters was recognised in this way. It was humbling and inspiring to see the work of so many other individuals, groups and organisations across the city showcased and celebrated at the awards ceremony. It made us feel very honoured to be part of the community of Portsmouth.
